2027 Jacaranda art prize | Beyond the Blooms

Any art or medium as long as it is 30x30cm

The 2027 Jacaranda Art Prize is proudly presented by TASCO

The Jacaranda Art Prize is themed on the Jacaranda in bloom (Oct/Nov) and welcomes entries from emerging and established artists working across any medium (including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture) of works 30x30cm (including frame or mount).

$15 per entry. Entry and delivery of artwork only on Saturday 19 December 10am - 4pm 2026 (Unless via post).

Beyond the Blooms

It doesn't need to be a jacaranda

For 2027, the Jacaranda Art Prize goes Beyond the Blooms. Your work might be inspired by a jacaranda — its colour, form, landscape, history or place — or not at all.

We’re opening the prize to artists and ideas of all kinds. Paint what interests you, make what excites you, and enter it in the category where it belongs.

Now in it's fifth year, the annual prize was established to promote culturally diverse artistic endeavours, showcase talent in the Mallee, Nurture young emerging artists and provide a community platform where local art can be viewed, studied, critiqued, and sold.

Works will be exhibited from 3 - 22 January 2027, with winners announced on the 3 January at The Red cliffs Country Markets and the People’s Choice Award announced on the 23 January.

Artwork must be clearly labelled on the back with:

- Name

- Address

- Artwork title

- Medium

- Sale price (including 25% commission) if applicable

- The date of artwork completion

- Artworks must be ready to hang with a wire or D hook attached.

- Artworks are to be as close as possible to measure 30cm x 30cm (30cm sqr if a sculpture)

- Limit of 4 entries per person.

- All works must be made solely by the artist and be the property of the artist.

- All competition fees are non-refundable.

- Artists will receive a receipt of entry upon lodgement.

- To enter the fee is $15.00 per entry.

- Sale of works include a 25% commission.

- Entries & delivery of works ONLY ON Saturday 19 December 2027 10am - 4pm (unless via post).

- In the event of excessive applications. The panel will hang and display at their discretion.

- Unless sold, works to be collected on Saturday 23 January 2027 10am - 4pm.

Judging

- The judges shall be appointed by Red Cliffs Artists Inc in such number and of such qualification as it sees fit at its sole discretion.

- Peoples’ Choice award will be via ballot box open to community from 9am 3 January till 4pm 22 January 2027.

- The people’s choice winner to be announced Sunday 23 January 2027.
